Held the weekend before the start of the fall semester, this extension of ÖØ¿ÚζSM's orientation program is required for all incoming first-year students and highly encouraged for incoming transfer students. During this weekend, students and their guest(s) will attend engaging sessions, speakers, and panels to help students properly transition into the ÖØ¿ÚζSM community.
 

Friday, August 23-Sunday, August 25, 2024
River Forest Campus
7900 W. Division St., River Forest

During Welcome Weekend, new students have the opportunity to get to know each other and find their place on the River Forest campus at multiple events. There is a full day of programming on Saturday, designed for new students and their guest(s). Students and their guest(s) will also enjoy lunch with others new to the ÖØ¿ÚζSM community, participate in a resource fair featuring many departments at the university, and attend optional activities in the evening. Check-in on Saturday starts at 9:30 a.m.

DU Fest is on Sunday, starting at 3:00 p.m., and is a free event for all DU Students. Students will join the ÖØ¿ÚζSM community in the Quad to kick off the new school year! The festival will include food trucks, live music and lots of free activities for the student community.

Thursday, August 22-Sunday, August 25, 2024
Chicago Campus

During Welcome Weekend, new students have the opportunity to get to know each other and find their place on the Chicago Campus at multiple events. Welcome Weekend starts with move-in on the Thursday before classes start; students will receive more information from the Office of Residence Life. Friday's programming will include the traditional Zocalo Street Mass.

There is a full day of programming on Saturday with sessions to connect with other Chicago Campus students, faculty, and staff at the Chicago Campus.

The Chicago Campus students will join the new River Forest campus students at DU Fest on Sunday on the Quad at the River Forest Campus to kick off the new school year! The festival will include food trucks, live music and lots of free activities for the student community.
