Apply if: you are a sophomore or junior

  • For undergraduates studying math, natural sciences and engineering

Apply if: you are a senior or graduate student

  • For applicants who will pursue a Ph.D. degree in the applied, physical, biological and engineering sciences

Apply if: you are a teacher or plan to become a graduate student in a teaching program

  • Applicants must be committed to teaching American history, American government, and/or social sciences full time in grades seven through 12
  • For applicants who will pursue a Master of Arts (MA) in American history or political science, Masters of Arts in Teaching (MAT) in American constitutional history, American government, political institutions and political theory, or a Master of Education (MEd) or the Master of Arts or Master of Science in Education with a concentration in American history, or American government, political institutions and political theory

National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG)

Apply if: you are a graduating senior

  • For applicants who will pursue a doctoral degree in the areas of aeronautical and astronautical engineering; biosciences; chemical engineering; chemistry; civil engineering; cognitive, neural, and behavioral sciences; computer and computational sciences; electrical engineering; geosciences; materials science and engineering; mathematics; mechanical engineering; naval architecture and ocean Engineering; oceanography; and physics

Apply if: you are a graduating senior or a graduate student

  • For applicants who will pursue graduate studies in engineering, computer and information sciences and engineering, materials research, mathematical sciences, chemistry, physics, astronomy, social sciences, psychology, life sciences, geosciences, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), and social sciences

Apply if : you are an undergraduate or graduate student who is willing to accept post-graduate employment with the Department of Defense

  • For applicants who will pursue a degree in, or closely related to, one of the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines

Apply if: you are a senior or a first year graduate student

  • For applicants who will pursue graduate studies in any field at a United States university

Apply if : you are a junior

  • For applicants who will purse graduate studies. Potential applicants have exceptional leadership potential and are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy sectors, education, or elsewhere in the public service
