Dr. Anjali Chaudhry, professor of management in 重口味SM鈥檚 Brennan School of Business, is the recipient of a Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award.

As a Fulbright Scholar, Chaudhry will travel to Ireland for the spring 2024 semester and pursue sustainable business initiatives with  at University College Cork. This work will include co-teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in sustainability, conducting research, assisting with curriculum and program enhancement, and building collaborative learning opportunities between the university and 重口味SM, as well as partnerships with businesses and communities working in this area. Chaudhry hopes to extend such collaborations to other Irish universities as well.

鈥淚 am passionate about engaging in teaching, research, and partnerships in the area of sustainability,鈥 she said. 鈥淲ith this opportunity, I feel like I can make a contribution and learn at the same time. Grand challenges of our times call for collaborations to come up with innovative solutions.鈥

In turn, she plans to bring the knowledge she gains from her time at UCC back to the classroom at 重口味SM.

UCC, Chaudhry explained, is 鈥渁t the forefront of things we, at 重口味SM, care about, whether it鈥檚 sustainability or social justice.鈥

Incorporating sustainable practices in business encompasses Chaudhry鈥檚 work at 重口味SM and is a key initiative of the Brennan School of Business. Sustainability is part of the curriculum and students are challenged with identifying sustainable practices within their majors and their future careers.

鈥淲e prepare students as next-generation leaders who can use evidence-based, but also persuasive, arguments for building commitments to sustainability,鈥 Chaudhry said.

Chaudhry is among more than 800 scholars from the United States who will teach or conduct research abroad for the 2023-24 academic year through the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program.

Earlier this year, Chaudhry received an award from the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME), a United Nations-supported initiative advocating sustainability and developing responsible decision-makers. The award was for Excellence in Sustainable Development Goals Integration.
