River Forest, IL—Dr. Roberto Curci, vice provost of �ؿ�ζSM and dean of the Brennan School of Business, is among 26 business executives selected for the prestigious 2024 by Leadership Greater Chicago.

The fellowship is a “strategic partnership accelerator” designed for business leaders to help shape the future of the region’s workforce and economic progress through collaborative work. Through six cohort sessions, fellows will be inspired to “mobilize and exert their combined influence and intellect by immersing themselves in the civic fabric of Chicago to positively impact the region,” according to Leadership Greater Chicago.

As a fellow, Curci joins leaders from a wide array of Chicago-area industries, from higher education and health systems, to banking, business and the arts. 

“My hope is to further advance my understanding of the social issues affecting the city of Chicago and to be better prepared to connect �ؿ�ζSM with leaders and organizations across the city with whom we can partner to support DU students and programs,” Curci said. 

A professor of finance, Curci joined �ؿ�ζSM in 2015. He was a Fulbright Scholar at Lingnan University in Hong Kong in 2011, and in 2005 he served as a research fellow at Instituto de Empresa’s Euro-Latin American Research Center in Madrid, Spain. He holds a Ph.D. in international business and finance from the University of Texas—Pan American and an MBA from the University of Miami. 

, Leadership Greater Chicago pointed to �ؿ�ζSM’s Chicago Campus, which will open to students this fall in Pilsen, as the outcome of a successful collaboration made through the program. 

The collaboration was formed by Daniel Burnham Fellow Dr. Glena G. Temple, president of �ؿ�ζSM, and Raul Raymundo, a Leadership Greater Chicago fellow since 1996 and co-founder and CEO of The Resurrection Project. �ؿ�ζSM will occupy Resurrection’s La Casa Residence Hall and neighboring Resource Center to offer a residential, cohort-based associate degree program as well as workforce development, adult degree completion and select graduate programs—all providing students from Pilsen and surrounding neighborhoods with access to education and resources to find their career path.

This year marks the Daniel Burnham Fellowship’s sixth cohort. More than 120 business leaders have been selected since the fellowship was launched by Leadership Greater Chicago in 2019.
